Howard A. " Lonnie " Gurley, Jr.

On Sunday, February 19, 2107, Mr. Howard A. “ Lonnie “ Gurley, Jr., of Taylors, passed away at the Charles George Veterans Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. Mr. Gurley, 67 was born in Anderson, South Carolina on June 24, 1949. He was the son of Howard A. Gurley, Sr. and Darlene B. Gurley of Anderson, South Carolina who predeceased him. A beloved father, he is survived by two daughters, Kateri A. Ethridge of Williston, South Carolina and Norah M. Gurley, of Brooklyn, New York; his two sons, Michael E. Dahl of White Earth, Minnesota and Andrew Gurley of Augusta, Georgia. Beloved brother, he is survived by his two sisters, Penelope Gurley Shotton and Linda “ Sammy “ Stevenson both of Anderson South Carolina. He was a beloved Papa to his three grandsons from, White Earth, Minnesota (Michael E. Dahl) and two grandsons from Williston, South Carolina (Kateri Ethridge). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gurley was loved by many friends of Bill. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alano Club, 111 Catalina Road, Greenville, S.C. 29609. Mr. Gurley was of the Methodist faith and was a retired contractor. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
