Belinda Eileen Greenwood Collins, 61, of Simpsonville, South Carolina passed from this life on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville following an illness. Born on November 3, 1958 in Denison, Texas to her parents, MSGT Robert E. Greenwood, United States Air Force and Ruth (Peterson) Greenwood, in leaving Denison she moved to Vandenberg Air Force Base in California and she had lived in Greenville since 1970. Belinda graduated from Travelers Rest High School in 1976, she then attended MUSC, where she earned a Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences. Belinda went on to work for Greenville Memorial Hospital as a Lab Technologist and she retired in 2018. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing softball, square dancing, clogging with the Cloggers of South Carolina and working in Genealogy. Belinda is preceded in death by her father. Those who most cherish her memory are her husband, Lonnie “ Carl “ Collins of Simpsonville, South Carolina; her daughters, Jennifer McConnell Evans and her husband, Bill of California and Lindsay McConnell Evatt and her husband, Wes of Travelers Rest, South Carolina but are currently in Honduras; her mother, Ruth Peterson Greenwood of Travelers Rest, South Carolina; her brother, Robert M. Greenwood and his wife, Lynne of Travelers Rest; her mother in law, Barbara Cordell of Williamston, South Carolina; her step son, Matthew Collins and his wife, Bri Brooks of Cheddar, South Carolina and her grandchildren, Xander, Gracie, Bella, Nate, Marleigh and Wyatt.

The family is planning a celebration of Belinda’s life to be held soon. Belinda’s husband Carl wishes to extend a very special thanks to all of the Staff at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville and to all of the family and friends that have given support during this time.
