Mrs. Bette Lou Perkins, age 73 of Greenville, SC, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sunday, October 3, 2021, just before 5:00 am on the Lord's day surrounded by her loving husband: Dr. Kenneth R. Perkins; her loving daughter: Hannah Joy Esther Shield's and her loving son: Dr. David Robert Kenneth Perkins of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Born on August 29, 1948, in Middletown, Connecticut to Mr. Robert W. Whitmore and Mrs. Dorothy Larson, also of Connecticut. Bette Lou was predeceased by her father: Mr. Robert W. Whitmore. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty-eight years: Kenneth R. Perkins; her daughter: Hannah Joy Esther Shields, and her son: David Robert Kenneth Perkins. She is also survived by her mother: Mrs. Dorothy Whitmore and two sisters: Debra Sam Bari and Patty Whitmore Zierle, her precious fur baby Lu Lu, and her sweet sweet Amanda girl; as well as extended family and friends.
Bette Lou requested a going home celebration of her life to be held in her honor as opposed to a traditional funeral service. We request all of Bette Lou's loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Greenville First Assembly of God at 11:00 am, 1105 Haywood Rd, Greenville, SC 29615. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to a go fund me account at: gofundmeperkins/shields.
