Canyon Dason Carter

Canyon Dason Carter, 16, passed away on Sept 30, 2020 at Greenville Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an accident. Born in Greenville, SC on January 30th, 2004, he weighed almost 11lbs. He entered this world bigger than life and continued to live that way leaving little pieces of himself everywhere he went. He was a gentle giant standing 6ft 4in.
Canyon was the only child of Christie Mull and Charles Carter. He attended Travelers Rest High School, was an honor roll student and aspired to attend LSU. He played football for Travelers Rest Youth Association for 6 years and Travelers Rest High School for 2 years. He was employed at Ingles on Hwy 276.
Canyon is survived by his mother, Christie Mull from TR, and his father Charles Carter from Piedmont. He is also survived by his grandparents: Margaret and Dennis Mull; his Aunt Andrea Mull; niece: Sami Bridges. Extended family include his aunts Janice Garcia from AZ and Carolyn Burns from Greenville; cousin: Steve Garcia from AZ, Kelli Garcia from AZ, Fulton Burns, and Tonya McMinn. He was recently predeceased by his uncle Brian Mull.
Surviving on his dad's side are grandparents: Sam and Margaret Carter; aunt: Shannon Ingle (Walt); uncle: Travis Carter; and cousins: Dalton, Nick, and Allison.
He was a huge part of the Travelers Rest community and will be missed by a multitude of friends, teammates, coaches, his Ingles family and the community.
Canyon had an infectious laugh and a giving heart. In his passing his organs have been donated to Sharing Life of SC and his red hair will be donated to Locks if Love.
A celebration of life service will be held this Sat, Oct 10th at Trailblazer Park in TR starting at 12pm. We ask vigil attendees to park in the upper parking lot of off Old Buncombe and overflow in the parking lot on Trailblazer Dr.
