Mr. Charles “Charlie” Lee Brazeal

Charles Lee Brazeal, of Taylors, SC passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 22, 2019. “Charlie” was born on May 8, 1944 in Greenville, South Carolina and was the son of James Alvin Brazeal and Ruth Merck Brazeal.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Angela Allen Brazeal. He also had four children – Michelle Carson (husband Chris and children Victor, Rachel, Cristina and Jack Carson), Scott Knecht (wife Stephanie and son Kaleb Knecht), Chris Knecht (wife Jennie and son Zack Knecht) and Anthony Knecht (wife Hannah and children Mills, Oliver and Myla Knecht). He is also survived by his sister, Francis Black, his brother-in-law Jimmy Allen, sister in law Kim Cravens Brush, as well as cousins James Brazeal, Joanne Reeves and Gail Reeves; mother in law Betty Cravens and special friend Guy Porter.

Charlie was preceded in death by his father, James Alvin Brazeal, his mother, Ruth Merck Brazeal and his brother, James Jr. Charlie was also preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, John and Jerry Allen, and his close friend, Earl Cravens.

It was also important to the family that Jim and Libby Massey be acknowledged.

Charlie was very proud of the time that he served in the Vietnam War. He was a Staff Sargent and served from 1961 to 1970. He received a Bronze Star for his service.

Charlie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, May 6th at 3pm at the M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery. Charlie was in care of Lutheran Hospice in his final days and the family would like to thank them for their loving care and assistance.
