Charles Leon Mergenthaler

Charles Leon Mergenthaler, 72, of Inman, SC passed away at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019. He was born Monday, October 7th, 1946 in Wilmington, NC to his parents; the late Charles Guy and Sarah Flynn Richards Mergenthaler.
He went to school in Wilmington, NC. He served proudly in the Airborne Division of the United States Army. He was a lifelong Truck Driver. Charles had a Special Love for his family including Mike D’Ornellas and his wife Christie. As well as his dog Barbara Ann. His hobbies include listening to music, playing the guitar and anything “John Deere.”
He will be greatly missed by his children; Charles Leon Mergenthaler Jr. (Tonya) of Powdersville, SC, Angela Charlene Mize-Griffin (Mike) of Inman, SC and Wendy Michelle Mergenthaler (John) of Inman,SC, his grandchildren; Zana D. Burnett, Malachi R. Mize, Christian H. Wilbanks, Mitchell A. Mize, Hunter W. Mergenthaler and Justin C. Sprouse, his great grandson; Kaden R. Pledger, his brothers; Tony Mergenthaler (Libby) of Wilmington, NC and Dale Tatum of Wilmington, NC, several nieces and nephews; Buddy, Zack, Angela and Wanda, and a very special nephew; little Eddie Mergenthaler.
Besides his parents, Charles was predeceased by his brother; Edward Mergenthaler and his sister; Wanda Mergenthaler.
A Special Thanks to all the Staff at CVRU Heart Unit at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, including Dr. Steven Leyland and Dr. Kalapurakal.
