Chris McCarragher, 44, husband of Dori McCarragher, lost his brave, well fought battle against cancer on April 22, 2018. Raised in Brown Deer, WI, he was the son of Annemarie McCarragher and John McCarragher.
Chris served in the United States Navy from 1993 to 1999 and finished as a Machinist's Mate Second Class on the USS George Washington aircraft carrier. During that time he also earned a Nuclear Engineering Technology degree from Thomas Edison State College. Chris worked with Baldor Electric Company as an Engineer for 19 years in Marketing, Engineering and IT.
The ultimate "good sport", Chris was an avid runner, completing two marathons and countless half marathons, 10K's and 5K's. He played tennis in high school and into adult life enjoying every minute on court with fellow members of Sports Club Greenville. Chris was best known for his infectious smile, optimism and humility.
Surviving, in addition to his parents and wife, are his son Connor, step daughter Hannah, brother Tim, sisters Shannon and Amy and step mother Sharon.
The Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, April 30, 11:30am at Covenant United Methodist Church (1310 Old Spartanburg Rd, Greer SC 29650) with a reception immediately following the ceremony.
