David Lee Olson, 83, of Mauldin, SC, formerly of Charleston, WV and Forest Park, OH, loving husband, devoted father, and doting PawPaw, passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife, Rosenia (née Buckley), parents Merrill and Ethel Olson, and brothers Robert and Jackie. He is survived by his daughter, Pam (Richard) Driggers of Mauldin, son Jim (Vicki) Olson of Batavia, OH, and son Glen (Paige) Olson of Loveland, OH, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law. He is also survived by his grandchildren, whom he was so proud of and adored: Emma & Sarah, Haley, Katie & David, and Jordon, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and two great-grandchildren. Dave graduated from Charleston High School and proudly served in the US Army as a field artilleryman. He spent many years as a truck driver, primarily for McLean Trucking, and Norbar/Hartco. He concluded his working career with Princeton City School District in maintenance before retiring to Mauldin. Dave enjoyed cooking, especially spare ribs on the grill, working in his yard and on projects in his house, which he did up until the week of his passing, visiting with family and friends, and pet-sitting his best animal friends, Sandy and Oliver. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals.
