Deborah “Debbie” Gay Meyers Young, 56, widow of Ralph Joseph Young, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Tucson Medical Center of complications from Covid 19.
Debbie was born in Roswell, New Mexico, to the late William and Judith Meyers. She is survived by her two brothers – Andrew “Drew” Meyers and his partner, Michael Simpson, of Mauldin, SC and William “Will” Meyers, his wife Melody, and their daughter, Skylar, of Greenville, SC.
Debbie Young was a very warm and vibrant person. She loved the beach, Renaissance faires, amusement parks, reading, movies and spending time with her niece, Skylar. She was an avid reader of the works of Terry Brooks, Nancy Springer, and Jessica Bryan, to name a few. She was very creative and whimsical, loved Halloween, particularly decorating for Halloween, as well as scary movies, cats, roller skating, the paranormal and supernatural, mermaids, fairies, and many other wonderous things. She enjoyed beading and learning new techniques from YouTube videos and spent many evenings doing beading projects with Skylar.
Debbie had a good heart and loved her family and friends. She was taken from us too soon after an incredibly heart-breaking year. She will be sorely missed.
