Born in Greenville South Carolina on October 19th 1946, to Alvin and Geneva Pitts. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Anna (Williams) and Henrietta Pitts. She leaves to mourn her husband Robert L. Cathcart Sr. Her daughter Deirdre Armstrong (Ahmed) and her stepson Robert L. Cathcart Jr. (Joanne) and her sister Bernice Pitts three grandsons one great granddaughter and a host of Nieces and Nephews.
Doris moved to Buffalo NY as a baby. She attended school in the Buffalo Public Schools graduating from East High School. After graduation Doris began her professional career as a Nurses Aide at Millard Fillmore Hospital. Later she attended The Edna Dyett School of Nursing at Millard Fillmore where she became an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) and later Becoming an RN (Registered Nurse). She retired from nursing in 2002 after a distinguished 38 year career in the medical field.
In 2010 Doris and her husband returned to her birthplace of Greenville S.C. to enjoy her twilight years with her extended family.
