Duane Alan Hasse

June 4, 1941 — May 23, 2020

DUANE ALAN HASSE, at age 79, a loving and caring husband, father, brother and uncle was called home to eternal life on May 23, 2020 after a hard fought battle with cancer.
Duane was born June 4, 1941 in Spokane, WA to Ward and Donna Hasse. Duane was a man of integrity who always strove to do his very best in everything he did. He was a master craftsman of drywall finishing and was lovingly called SUPERMAN because he could repair any drywall problem.
Duane’s real passion however, was music. He was a classically trained pianist and loved playing and performing all the great composers. AS a young man he earned his Music BA at Walla Walla College, his MA at Washington State University, and was a grad assistant while working on his PH.D at Michigan State University.
Duane and his wife attended Lakeside Chapel in Bath, MI before retiring to Greenville, SC where they attended Trinity Fellowship Church. Duane loved studying the Bible and sharing his faith.
Duane loved animals and nature, and enjoyed being outside and spent many hours hiking the trails at Caesar”s Head and Paris Mt. Duane was always ready for a rousing card game of Rook and other board games. He was always cheerful and kind and loved talking to people. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
The family would like to thank Open Arms Hospice for their loving care of Duane during his battle with cancer.
An online memorial service will be held at a later date Memorial donations can be made to Greenville County Animal Care, either online or by mail at 328 Furman Hall Road, Greenville, SC 29609
