Earnest Ralph Myers Jr., died in his home on April 10th, 2020.
Born July 22nd, 1941 in Newport News, Virginia. E.R. was the son of the late Earnest Ralph Sr. and Margaret Ann Staples Myers.
He grew up in Hampton, Virginia and graduated from Hampton High in 1959. He went to the Police Academy and was a Virginia State Trooper for 18 years.
He married Carmen Drewery Myers on January 14th, 1961. They had 2 daughters; Tracy Myers (Rodney) Harrington of Charlottesville, Virginia and Jennifer Myers Rippy of Easley, SC. They made their home in Waynesboro, Virginia before moving to SC where Ralph was a Safety Supervisor for Wilson Trucking Co. until his retirement in 2006.
In May of 1997 Ralph and Diane Gamberg married. Ralph became Pop or Papa Ralph to Debbie Gamberg (Robbie) Hoover of Easley, SC and Robert Gamberg (Susan) or Yorktown, Virginia.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 23 years, Diane;. His sister, Elizabeth Myers Murray of Yorktown, Virginia;. His children, Tracy, Jennifer, Debbie and Rob; his grandchildren, Carmen and Noah Shaw, Libby and Will Gamberg, Tiffany and Tyler Hoover, Bradley Harrington, Ashley (Kevin) Morrison, Alycia (Jason) Avery, Kathryn (Travis) Mills and Madi Lind;. His great grandchildren, Reece, Caroline and Jesse Mills, and Logan Morrison.
Along with his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his wife, Carmen Myers and his son-in-law, Donald Rippy.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Interim Healthcare Hospice, 16 Hyland Road, Greenville, SC or Pickens County Meals on Wheels, 349 Edgemont Ave., Liberty, SC 29657
A Memorial Service will be scheduled for a later date.
