Eileen Mary Cormier

Eileen Mary Cormier, 92, passed away August 24, 2019 at The Garden House of Anderson, with close friends and family by her side.
Eileen was born in New York City on July 9, 1927, to James and Catherine Brady Larkin. She was fifth of eight children born to the family home in Astoria, borough of Queens, NY. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Rusowicz, many nephews, nieces, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Eileen had a successful secretarial career with Bristol Myers Squibb of Manhattan, NY. Upon retiring in the 1990’s, Eileen moved to Keowee Key, in SC and then to Anderson to her brand new home in Bradley Park.
Eileen traveled extensively after retiring and spent many winters in Florida with close friends and family. She was an avid tennis player and then added golf to her recreational activities. Some of her favorite pastimes were the theatre, gardening at her home and watching football games on television. She was very fond of animals and birds. Eileen volunteered weekly for many years at the Anderson Free Clinic. She was a long time parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Anderson.
Eileen will be greatly missed by family and friends. We would like to thank the staff of The Garden House of Anderson for taking good care of her for the past twenty months, especially Courtney and Molly. We would like to thank the staff of Divine Hospice for their care during her final months.
Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, September 5th, at 1:30pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Anderson. Internment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park in New Jersey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Rd, Anderson, SC, 29621.
