Elenore – Ellie (nee: Koschak, nee: Langenbach) Krause, age 86, of Greenville, SC passed away peacefully January 23, 2019 at Greenville Hospital, Greenville, SC. She resided at Rolling Green Village, Greenville, SC since 2013 where she has been well cared for and loved. She had previous residence in Lake Villa, IL, Montague, MI and Waukegan, IL
Ellie is preceded in death by Gerald (Gerry) Krause (D: November 2010) her husband of 25 years who she loved deeply.
Ellie was employed by Holy Child High School, Waukegan, Il, teaching physical education during her children’s grade school years. In 1970 she continued her PhyEd career at Muskegon Community College - MCC, Muskegon, MI. During this period, she earned her Doctorate degree and was quickly named Professor Ellie. She held the title of Faculty in HPER (Health, Physical Education, and Recreation). She was the Department Chair retiring from MCC in 1989. Ellie will be remembered by family, friends and colleagues as a consummate teacher.
Ellie loved being in and on the water. She and Gerry loved sailing on Lake Michigan, White Lake, Belize and with family on vacations. Whether sailing, scuba diving, swimming on her own, participating in or teaching water aerobics, teaching kids to swim and water ski, teaching water safety as a Red Cross Volunteer at the YMCA - water was her paradise.
She is survived by: two sisters, Annabelle Jennings and Leona (John) Heffelfinger, Stacey Olson, Larry Koschak Sr., four children and their spouses - Larry & Colleen Koschak Jr., Liz (Koschak) & Chris Laundra, Karen (Koschak) & Bob Williams, Patti (Koschak) & Ken Hartsing. She was Oma to seven grandchildren: Garrett, Gregory, Christopher, Aubrieann, Timothy, Alex and Kaylee and Great Oma to Graham, Braden and Zephryn.
Through her marriage to Gerry Krause, Ellie was Oma to her extended family, Gina (Krause) and Mark Hayek with grandchildren Jeremy & Carina; Randy and Elise Krause with grandchildren Paul Taylor, Jamie and Chad along with many great grandchildren.
The entire family would like to express our deep gratitude for the special care provided Ellie by Rolling Green Village and all the staff. Ellie enjoyed introducing all of you to her family, as her friends.
