Francis Roy Gossett Jr.

September 29, 1943 — May 28, 2021

Francis Roy Gossett, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on May 28. He was surrounded in love by his wife and children.
Frank was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on September 29, 1943. He was a lifelong resident of Greenville and attended Clemson University and Furman University. He spent almost his entire working career as the manager of the customer service at Stone Manufacturing, eventually moving over to Umbro International where he retired as Vice President of Customer Support and Distribution.
He was a voracious reader, an amateur photographer, and a highly-skilled woodworker. In his shop, he produced many wonderful products including toys, knives, bowls, boxes, and other items. He made the two cradles used by his grandchildren and great-grandson and which will be used in his family for generations to come.
Frank was a faithful servant at St. James Church where he served as a member of the Vestry, an usher, a rector’s aide, and a chalice bearer. He truly lived out his faith in Jesus. He was truthful almost to a fault, generous, and caring. Most of all, he loved his family. He was married for 58 years to the love of his life, Bonnie, and the two of them ultimately welcomed two children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. These people were the center of his world, and they all knew the depth of the love he felt for each of them.
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Francis Roy Gossett, Sr. and Florence Jones Gossett. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his children, Lewis (Hayley) and Stacy Head (Jerry), and his sister, Sharron Gossett Eudy. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Katherine Gossett Dunnagan (Seth), Steven Walker Head (Paige), Francis Mattison Gossett, Ragan Katherine Head, Grayson Edward Gossett, and Caroline Lee Gossett. He is also survived by his great-grandson, Ford Bennett Dunnagan. He was the Godfather of Barbara Dennis and Joshua Vaughn and was a faithful cousin and uncle to many. Frank will be terribly missed by his cats, Annabel Lee and Emma Lee.
Frank was faithful to all. He lived well, and he loved deeply. He was a very good man who will be missed, but his family and friends know they will see him again.
