George Auger Jr.

January 20, 1944 - April 23, 2022

George Auger, Jr., 78 of Greenville, SC, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 23, 2022, after battling multiple medical conditions. He was in the company of his family at his home during the time of his passing. He was a loving husband and amazing father and grandfather. George was born on January 20, 1944, in Paterson, NJ to the late Marie and George Auger of Paterson, NJ and was preceded in death by his sister Louise Auger. George graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology while working full time and was a successful piping design engineer, working on major chemical, nuclear, and pharmaceutical plants worldwide. He started his engineering career with Midwest Piping – Division of Crane Co. in Clifton, NJ and retired at Fluor Corporation in Greenville, SC after working there for over 20 years. George’s passions were studying the Bible, volunteering at his church (and was an elder for many years at North Hills Church), mentoring young men, watching his grandchildren play sports and bowling. At the age of 73 he bowled his first and only perfect game. He is survived by his wife Carol of 57 years and his sons George and wife Lisa (Wilson) of Greenville, SC and Brian and wife Danette (Thompson) of Greensboro, NC and 8 grandchildren Nick (wife Ashley), Kayla, Ryan, Rachael, Noah, Josh, Jesse, and Regan. The family will hold a Celebration of Life at North Hills Church on Edwards Road, Taylors, SC on Friday, April 29, 2022, at noon and receive friends at 11am. All are welcome to celebrate George’s life and his homegoing to be with Jesus. Memorials can be made to your favorite charity in lieu of flowers.
