Gordon Lee Jenkins

Gordon Lee Jenkins, 60, of Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at his home. Born on January 22, 1957 in Asheville, North Carolina to his parents, Roy C. Jenkins and Mildred Yvonne (Anders) Jenkins. Gordon was a lifelong resident of the upstate and he worked in various jobs, mostly working with his brother as a gutter installer in the home repair industry. He enjoyed going fishing and he most recently attended the Unity Baptist Church in Simpsonville.

Gordon is preceded in death by his parents and his three sisters, Hazel Helton of Asheville, Ruby Vaughn of Greenville and Pauline Norris of Easley. Those who will treasure his memory most are his sister, Betty J. Whitmire (Elmer) of Simpsonville, South Carolina and his brother, Bobby Jenkins (Sue) of Greenville, South Carolina.

Services to remember and honor Gordon’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, November 2, 2017 in the Chapel of the Cremation Society of South Carolina - Westville Funerals, 6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina. Officiating will be Reverend Larry Ledford, pastor of the Unity Baptist Church in Simpsonville. A time of gathering for Gordon’s family and friends will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. just before the service.
