James Pryor " Jim " Davis

On August 13, 2019 at 6:45 PM, God crooked his little finger and called Jim
home.
He was born August 15, 1948, in Transylvania County, NC to Robert Nathan Davis and Frances Elizabeth Tallent Davis, both deceased. Jim has/had two brothers, Steve (Mickie) living in Brevard, NC and Keith "Fudd" (Yuri) Davis of Atlanta, GA, who preceded him in death in 2011.

Jim has one son, Jimmy (Stacy) Davis and two grandsons, Zack and Alex Davis, whom
he loved very much, living in Pisgah Forest, NC. Jim also had a stepson, Sam "Lee" Youngblood, IV, who also preceded him in death in 2010, and two step-grandchildren, Austin and Kaylee Youngblood of Greenwood, SC.

He is survived by his wife, Nikki Hughes Davis, and 2 registered Yorkies, PrettyBoy and BabyGirl Davis, of the home, who were loyal companions, especially during his illness.
Jim was a horticulturist, landscaper and did grounds maintenance most of his life. He loved gardening and wood-cutting. He loved helping people and doing good deeds without any recognition. He was a member of The Compassionate Friends, along with wife, Nikki, after the loss of her son. He was a 30+ year member of a fellowship that provided love, support, care and made life worthwhile, anonymously. He loved talking to anyone and telling jokes. He kept up with his friends and family by calling them regularly. He always said phones were for talking, and never learned to text, use the web or a computer.

Jim went home to be with his God, dying peacefully at Hospice House of the Piedmont, in Greenwood, SC, after a long and extended illness. The family is at the home in Hodges, SC. Per his wishes, he will be cremated by the Cremation Society of South Carolina. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice & Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 West Alexander Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646, or the charity of one's choice.
