Jean Taylor Varat

Jean Taylor Varat, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Greenville on March 30, 1939, she was the daughter of Walter M. and Kate R. Taylor. She was a graduate of Mauldin High School. She was a member of Monaghan United Methodist Church.
Surviving is a son, Danny Varat (Gina), and a granddaughter, Mary Earl Varat of Greenville. She is also survived by a brother, M. Donald Taylor of Columbia; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth Taylor Lee, and brothers, Charles P. Taylor, Walter E. Taylor, Raymond E. Taylor, and Ira J. Taylor.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Monaghan United Methodist Church, 2 McBeth Street, Greenville, SC 29611. Visitation will be at 4:00 PM with the service to follow at 5:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Society of Greenville, 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605, Monaghan United Methodist Church, 2 McBeth Street, Greenville, SC 29611, or the charity of one's choice.
