John O. Weddle

John O. Weddle, 86, passed away on July 5, 2022 in Simpsonville, SC. He was born on
February 14, 1936 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Orville and Esther Weddle. John is survived by
his beloved wife of 51 years, Wanda Hall Weddle; son, Christopher (Dana) of Fort Mill, SC; and
daughter, Jennifer (Craig) Eastin of Simpsonville, SC; and four grandchildren, Dane Weddle,
Tyler Weddle, Aubrey Eastin and Wyatt Eastin. He enjoyed time spent with family and with his
beloved dog, Max.
John was a graduate of Speedway High School and Indiana University. He served as a Captain
in the US Army. John enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and playing cards. His favorite pastimes
were watching Indiana University basketball, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Braves, and golf. After
retiring from owning a small business in Indianapolis, IN, he relocated to Greenville, SC to be
near family. He was a member of Advent United Methodist Church.
A special thank you to the Hospice of the Upstate Palliative and Home Hospice teams. A
Celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2:00pm at Advent United
Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of
flowers, anyone wishing to honor John’s memory may give to Advent United Methodist Church
or the charity of their choice.
