Jovola Ann Knecht

Jovola Ann Knecht, 84, of Greenville, SC, was welcomed into heaven on Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8, 2022.

A native Greenvillian, Jovola was the daughter of Martin Lewis and Bertie Mae Vickery Knecht. She retired from Milliken - Judson Mill Division after more than 23 years of service.

With an open heart and home, Jo nurtured and shaped the lives of 32 nieces and nephews. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church and a strong prayer warrior. Jovola loved to do for others, often preparing homemade cakes, potato salad, southern-style green beans, or even whole meals to show affection or concern.

Jovola is survived by one sister, Frances Phillips. She was preceded in death by both parents and 10 siblings: Johnny, Audrey, Harold, Wallace, Arygle, Kenneth, Gerald, Charles, Barbara, and Aaron.

The family wishes to acknowledge the skill and compassion demonstrated by the staff of Prisma PACE Senior Care, Prisma Cancer Institute, Greenville Post-Acute Center, and Prisma Hospice of the Foothills.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 20, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Westview Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery West. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westview Baptist Church.
