Judy Lee Strickland Beffart, age 67, of Marietta, South Carolina, passed away on November 21, 2019. Judy was born on January 12, 1952 in Kennett, Missouri to the late James Arland Strickland and late Thelma Hackett Strickland. Judy spent the majority of her young life growing up in Jacksonville, Florida, graduating from high school in 1970. From 1970-74, she attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida where she received a B.A. in English. From 1974 - 1977, she worked for Youth for Christ in Miami, Florida, Jackson, Mississippi, and Atlanta, Georgia. In August 1979, she met her husband Mark Beffart. They were married at First Baptist of Atlanta on January 12, 1980. From 1980 - 2002, Judy worked as a operations and loan officer for First National Bank of Atlanta and Wachovia Bank. In December 2003, they moved to Taylors, South Carolina. In June 2004, they moved to Pickens County near Table Rock State Park where Judy operated a clothing consignment shop, book store, and bakery until 2011. In June 2019, they moved to Marietta, South Carolina. Judy was an active follower of Jesus Christ and served with her husband in several Christian ministries. A memorial service was held for her at Slater Baptist Church on November 30, 2019. Judy is survived by her loving husband Mark Beffart; brother Jim Strickland, Merritt Island, FL; brother Chris Strickland, St. Johns, FL, and sister Kathy McCann, Jacksonville, FL.
