Kathleen Ohlinger

Greenville, SC - Kathleen “Kathy” Kay Malone Ohlinger, 74, wife of Jacob G. “Jake” Ohlinger, passed on Saturday, January 16, 2021, after a long battle with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) treated by Dr. Chowdhury.

Born in Sioux City, Iowa Kathy was the only daughter of John and Mae Nell Malone. Kathy was a devout Catholic. She dedicated her life to educating children, as a first-grade teacher, volunteering at schools, and as a preschool teacher. Kathy enjoyed her family, cross-stitch, reading, musicals, and watching sports including football, soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball.

In addition to her husband, Kathy is survived by her children: JJ and his wife, Darlene, of Salt Lake City; Johnell Brooks and her husband, Alan, of Central, SC; Ken and his wife, Kelly, and their son, Wyatt, of Salt Lake City; and Dexter their dog. While born a single child, Kathy loved the large family gained in marriage including 11 siblings with 35 nieces and nephews, 71 great-nieces and nephews, and 31 great, great-nieces and nephews.
