Ken Nielsen, 81, husband of Nancy Nielsen, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Oakleaf Village.
Born in Brooklyn, New York a son of the late Birger and Ella Nielsen, Ken is a member of Disciples United Methodist Church and a Veteran of the United States Coast Guard Reserves and the United States Army. He was known to be a loving husband, father and grandfather to his family and loved by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife Nancy of the home, daughters, Lynn Greer (Rusty), Debra Weldon (Michael), Jill Nielsen, grandchildren, Alex Nielsen, Emily and Lauren Weldon and a sister, Ellen Hall. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, and brothers, Roy and Jack Nielsen.
A memorial service will be held when the family is able to gather with friends and relatives to honor Ken’s life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Disciples United Methodist Church, 185 Riley Smith Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29615.
