Linda Weaver Vaughn, 74, of 243 Boulter’s Lock Road, Irmo, South Carolina passed away November 15 , 2017 at Southern Oaks Residential Care in Greenville. She was born on March 29, 1943 in Columbia, SC to the late Franklin Wilson Weaver and Ruby Warr Plummer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Paul Heyward Taylor, III (Chip), a brother-in-law, William A. Chavis and a sister-in-law, Annette Smith Weaver.
Linda was a long-time resident of Beaufort SC, and there she was a member of many organizations. She was known for her cheery smile and warm hospitality, and for always being willing to lend a hand. Well-loved by all, she will be remembered for her fun-loving ways. She graduated from Beaufort High School, and then Radiology School and was a member of SC Alpha Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Garden Clubs in both Beaufort and Irmo. She loved gardening and crafts, and formerly co-owned the Irmo Home and Garden Center. She was retired from the South Carolina State Tax Commission.
Ms. Vaughn is survived by son Scott Trent Taylor (Wendy) of Irmo, SC; stepdaughter, Deanna Bailey, of Columbia and stepson, Edward Vaughn (Katherine) of Columbia: her siblings, Harriette (Happy) Weaver Miller, Frankie (Butch) Lynn Weaver, and James Clifton Weaver; and 5 grandchildren, Charlotte Taylor, Logan Bailey, and Abby, Molly and Zachary Vaughn and; nieces and nephews Glenn A Chavis, (Carol), Judith Chavis Jordan, (Bill) both of Greenville, SC, Randall Wayne Weaver of Wilmington, NC, Joni Weaver Gillis (Jim) of San Mateo, California, Wendy Weaver Cantey (Mark), of Charlotte , NC, and Ashley Livingston Weaver of Hilton Head, SC and , 16 great nephews and nieces, 3 great, great grand nieces, and I great, great grand nephew,
A Memorial Service will be held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church, on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:00 pm.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the loving staff at Southern Oaks for the kindness and caring shown to our beloved aunt. Their compassion will not be forgotten.
