Lucille Veronica Anne Meier

Lucille Veronica –Anne Meier, of Hickory Tavern, South Carolina, passed away on April 30 at the age of 72.
Lucille was born in Schenectady, New York, to the late Jessie and Sigmund Fialkowski. She was a graduate of Notre Dame High School and Spencer Business and Technical Institute for Nursing and Medical Transcription.
She was a devoted nurse, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was strong-willed with a strong soul. She was kind to all: patients, family, and friends. She enjoyed helping others.
She will be remembered for her love of the outdoors, whether camping with family or snow skiing with friends. Her love of animals was reflected by her dogs, who were with her throughout the years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Donald A. Meier, and her daughters: Liza Marie Hunt (Robert) of Scotia, New York, and Melissa Anne Meier of the home; her brother, Hank Filkowski (Patricia) of Schenectady, New York. Lucille is also survived by nephews: Mark Fialkowski, of Glenville, New York, and Hank Fialkowski, of Schenectady, New York. Other survivors include her grandchildren: Ashley Marie-Anne Meier, Madyson Renee Hunt, Jacob Robert Hunt, Kyle Summerford, Juliette Summerford, Leila Cisneros of Scotia, New York.
Great-grandchildren include Chloe-Anne Marie Meier and Rose-Lynn May Chaires.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, Tony Fialkowski.
After 47 years of diabetes, having survived breast cancer, cardiac issues, and kidney failure, Lucille finally succumbed to the call of her Lord.
Graveside services will be held at Westview Memorial Garden in Laurens, South Carolina, on Friday, May 7, 2021, at 1 PM, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Frank M. McCracken of Laurens First Presbyterian Church.
The family respectfully asks that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Breast Cancer Foundation, both of which can be found online.
