Lydia Anne Emery

January 29, 1947 — November 7, 2020

Mrs. Lydia Anne Emery, 73, of Greenville, SC passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 7th, 2020. She was born Wednesday, January 29th, 1947 in Travelers Rest, SC to her parents, the late Edward Ellison and Mary Lois Stockton Stroud.
Lydia will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 35 yrs, Mr. John Garvin Emery as well as her daughters, Charlotte Lynn (Jason), Donna Nelson Minor, Mindy Nelson, Julia Rogers (Jonathan), Melissa Emery Hall (Jason) and her son Danny Emery (Angie); her grandchildren, Kayla, Myles, Kacie, Alyssa, McKenzie, Savannah, Ashley, Aubrey, Hannah, Austin and Emily; her great-grandchildren, Sophie, Thomas, Onyx, Emerald, Rayne, Tucker, Jackson, Tanner, Jacob, Houston and Dallas.
Lydia was a loving and caring matriarch that her family always gathered around. She loved getting to see her grandbabies and making sure that everyone was comfortable and had enough to eat. Lydia and John spent many hours yard selling, flea marketing and singing & dancing with their peers on Friday evenings. She enjoyed growing flowers, sharing stories about growing up in Tigerville and boy did she love to dance. Chuck Berry was her favorite and if she heard Johnny B. Goode play, she just had to stop what she was doing and cut a rug. She was the epitome of self-less love and could not have possibly known just how much we all love her and miss her.
A note from her eldest daughter:

Mama,
There are not enough words to express how much I love you. I am going to miss you until the day we are reunited again. This is breaking my heart Mama, but I have to believe that you are in a wonderful place now. You will now be our beautiful guardian angel.

I love you forever Mama.
Love
Charlotte
