Margaret Marie Barton

Margaret Marie Barton was born March 6th, 1950 to Willie Andrew Moore and Maudie Nevia Moore (Rhoades) in Greenville County, South Carolina. She was married to William Lewis Burnett Sr. on October 2nd, 1965 and they have three sons.

Over the years, Margaret worked in textiles, was a caregiver, and held various jobs in the hospitality field. She enjoyed nature and working in her gardens. She was a caring and loving mother who focused her attention on her family.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior on August 7th, 2003 and became a member of Standing Springs Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She was baptized on February 1st, 2004. She was an active member until a decline in health.

Margaret passed away on March 13th, 2021 at 12:21 a.m. at McCall Hospice House in Simpsonville.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Haskell Odess Moore and Willie “Junior” Moore II, and her sister, Shelby Jean Moore-Messer.

She is survived by her sons, William “Billy” Lewis Burnett Jr., Darrell Andrew Burnett, and Kevin Roy Burnett; her six grandchildren, Jennifer Nations (Charles), Nicole Hilley (Harold), Kayla Smith, Courtney Hopkins (Josh), William Burnett, and Izabella Burnett; and four great grandchildren, Summer Nations, Carson Nations, Haley Hilley and Chloe Hilley.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at Cremation Society of SC – Westville Funerals (6010 White Horse Road, Greenville, South Carolina 29611). A viewing and receiving of friends will be held following the service on site at the Westville Chapel.
