Marty Ray Holmes

October 6, 1959 — April 27, 2018

Marty Ray Holmes, of Anderson, born on October 6, 1959 to the late Dorothy Brown Holmes and the late Bennie Reese Holmes, passed away at age 58 on April 27, 2018.

He attended Crescent High School and made a career in Construction. Marty was the beloved husband of Zoila Holmes. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Holmes. Marty is survived by his daughters, Brandi Holmes, Ana Metz, and Paola Garcia; and sisters, Sue Burdette, Judy Gailey, and Debbie Holmes-Craft and his granddaughters, Maddison and Pasiely. He also leaves behind his adored dog, Solovino. Marty loved fishing and rides in his dunebuggy. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.

Marty was a great husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and person. He lived his life by making people smile and giving back as much as he could. His heart was bigger than his body and he will forever live in ours.

The memorial service honoring his life will be at 5:30 on Tuesday, May 1st at New Prospect Baptist Church, 2503 Whitehall Rd, Anderson, South Carolina, 29625. Friends are welcome for visitation with the family before the service beginning at 4pm.
