Mary Lou Brown (nee Gentry), 73, passed away peacefully at home in Easley on Saturday the 21st of March. She was born September 16, 1946 in Hendersonville, NC.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Bertha Gentry of North Carolina, her husband Johnny M. Brown of Greenville, and a brother, Albert Gentry of Blue Ridge.
Surviving are her children Sherry, Scott, and Steven Brown, two brothers, E.L. and Jerry Gentry, a sister, Betty Medlin, 4 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Vicky Brown and Angie Gentry, who, along with her daughter cared for her during the duration of her illness.
Mary Lou spent several of her working years in the textile industry, and later became a stay at home mom who loved the outdoors, farming, and cooking.
She will be remembered by her many friends for her charming, outgoing personality.
Due to current events surrounding Covid-19, a celebration of her life will be held at a later date and time.
Memorials may be made in her name to Interim HealthCare of the Upstate Hospice 16 Hyland Rd Greenville, SC 29615 or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
