Mary Alice Mistele Guion

Mary Alice (Mistele) Guion, age 79, passed away unexpectedly, quickly, and peacefully on the morning of Monday, August 26, 2019. She was born September 16, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to Walter and Ruth Mistele. She is survived by the love of her life of 67 years (married 59 years), Kenneth James Guion, her four children – Karen (Bruce) Shepherd, Carol (Jim) Rathbone, Ken (Cindy) Guion, and Kevin (Deborah) Guion – her 15 grandchildren, and her two younger brothers, Lloyd Mistele and Paul Mistele. Mary spent the majority of her life caring for others as a Registered Nurse, Girl Scout Leader, Young Life Leader, helping with Billy Graham crusades, and actively involved in the community and with her kids. Having never met a stranger, Mary Guion was loved by so many and will be deeply missed every day. In lieu of flowers, expressions of love and condolences can be made as a donation to one of Mary’s favorite causes, the St. Jude hospital for children. A memorial fund has been set up as “Mary Guion Memorial” on the St. Jude website (search for the fund at St Jude Gift Fund).
