Michael was born on August 27th, 1963 to Gary Clayton and Ronnie Chassereau in Greenville SC. Michael was a very loving father and Pawpaw to his 5 children and 5 grandchildren. His daughters Ashley Crooks (Tony), Jessica Cox (Ryan), Erika Chassereau, and his sons MJ and Nicholas Clayton. His grandchildren Emily Williams, Peyton, Riley, and Easton Cox and Giselle Chassereau.
Micheal is also survived by his father Gary Clayton, his sisters Linda Julia, Robin Cromer, Kimberly Roder and Rebekah Burdine. His brothers Bobby, Jimmy and Samuel Clayton. He is predeceased by his mother Ronnie Chassereau.
