Pansy Ross Sorrell

June 30, 1932 — February 6, 2022

Pansy Ross Sorrell
Taylors, SC

Pansy Ross Sorrell, also known as Pat by her kids and friends, departed her loving family on February 6, 2022.

Pat was born in Hiawassee, GA. on June 30, 1932, to Martha Alice Ross and William Lewis Ross. Attended Taylors High School in Taylors S.C,

Pat was the mother of Rodney W. E. Sorrell and Susan Robin Sorrell (Johnny DeLeon). She raised her children with love, laughter, and patience. She was married to Wayne F. Sorrell (deceased). She was a half-sister to Carolyn Gibson Barnard of Tennessee.

Pat traveled the world due to her husband’s job. She lived in Egypt, Singapore, various southeast states, and Colorado. They also spent two very snowy years in Massachusetts. She loved to travel, stop at roadside antique/flea markets, read, sew, sing in the church choir, and buy QVC merchandise. Pat had an extensive shoe, vintage apparel, and handbag collection. She kept a paper trail, including checkbooks dating back to the 1970s. (Rodney and Susan will be having a large fire pit to send said paper to her in heaven.) Pat loved her friends and family, but if you crossed her you would get the “hairy eyeball” --her signature trait, which would make Susan and Rodney quiver, knowing their fate.

Pat loved her church and church family at Brushy Creek Baptist. She sang in the church choir for over thirty years. (Susan was thankful when Pat joined the choir because her beautiful voice would attract attention, causing people to turn and stare in her direction.)

Aside from the children, she doted on Rosie, a very spoiled teacup poodle. Susan inherited Rosie, and the princess poodle is slowly acclimating to not having the daily doggy buffet that Pat would prepare for her.

Services will be held at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors on February 14th at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations please donate to your local animal shelter, Meals on Wheels, or an arts organization in Pat’s name.
