Roger was a graduate of Ashley High School and received an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and a class A Teacher’s Certificate in Business Education from Lenoir-Rhyne. He also served our country proudly in the U.S. Army where he developed his strong work ethic.

Roger worked in the Accounting industry for more than 27 years and received numerous accomplishments during his career.

He is well known for his legendary baseball career in Gastonia where he was a wild, hard throwing, left-handed pitcher and struck many a batter (out)!!! His passion for the game led him to coach little league baseball at Union Road Optimist Club for numerous years where he had a positive influence on many of his players. He enjoyed umpiring Junior and Senior High baseball games after his retirement in 1991.

In later years, Roger enjoyed spending time gardening along with his wife Jane. They were co-owners of an Apple Orchard in Wilkes County. Many happy memories with family and friends were made there over the years.

In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by a brother, Jake Edward “Eddie” Kendrick and sister, Billie Ann Gaddy.

He will be deeply missed by all.

Due to current public health concerns, there will be a private memorial service celebrating Roger’s life held at the Kendrick residence in Greenville, SC.

The Kendrick family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society and Hospice Foundation of America in memory of Roger Kendrick.

The family wishes to thank Wren Hospice of Greer, SC for their love and support during this difficult time.
