Rosalind Louise Reynolds

March 31, 1949 — January 1, 2022

Rosalind Louise Reynolds of Taylors, SC died at her home on Saturday, January 1, 2022.
Rosalind was born in Seneca, SC on March 31, 1949 to Louise Smith Reynolds and Arthur Hanie Reynolds. She attended Oconee County public schools, graduating from Seneca High School in 1967. Rosalind received a Bachelor of Science degree from Winthrop University in 1970, and a Masters’ degree from Clemson University.
An educator at heart, Rosalind found her calling in teaching. She taught science at Tanglewood Middle School in Greenville for 30 years. She had a profound impact on both her students and colleagues. These friendships were sustained long after Rosalind retired in 2001. Rosalind was a woman of faith and a member of Fourth Presbyterian Church in Greenville, serving as a deacon. Being a part of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority, Fidelis Alpha chapter, provided friendship and a philanthropic focus.
Just like she instilled in her students, Rosalind was an avid reader and participated in any activity that sparked the imagination and encouraged us to dream. She was happiest when spending quality time with her beloved friends and family. She always demonstrated extreme gratitude and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life - catching up over coffee, or weekly lunches with her closest friends.
Rosalind was pre-deceased by her parents. She is survived by her cousins: Alan Smith (Ronda) of Sunset, SC; Kathy Smith Metts (David Metts, deceased) of Chapin, SC; Will Smith (Caitlin) of Charlotte NC; Megan Smith Zapf (Ed) of Travelers Rest, SC; Jackson Smith (Kiley) of Little Rock, AR; Dylan Metts of Beaufort, SC; Rachel Metts of Atlanta, GA; Louis and Liam Zapf of Travelers Rest; Sam Smith of Charlotte; Cheryl Colley; Hollye Kavanaugh of Brandon, MS. Rosalind also was survived by her chosen family - a multitude of great friends in the Greenville area.
Rosalind possessed the beautiful ability to see the good in all of us and did so with an open heart and open mind. She was an optimist, full of hope and kindness towards others. Rosalind will be missed tremendously by her friends and family. May her caring nature and philanthropic spirit live on through each of us as we remember our dear friend and our cousin, Rosalind Louise Reynolds.
A celebration of life for Rosalind will be held in the spring of 2022 in Greenville. Date, time and place will be announced in March. Her family and close friends will spread the word.
