Shirley Elaine Toby

Shirley Elaine Toby, 79, of Travelers Rest SC, stepped into the arms of Jesus on Feb 25, 2021 while at home surrounded by family. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Witt, Illinois. She was dearly loved by her surviving sons, Donald William Hampton & wife Gail K. Hampton of Simpsonville SC, Bobby Lee Hampton of Greenville SC, Dennis Wayne Hampton of Travelers Rest SC, Jeffery Lynn Hampton of Travelers Rest SC, and Cecil Eugene Toby of Travelers Rest SC. She is also predeceased by two daughters, Cheryl Ann Hampton and Donna Jean Hampton. Shirley was loved by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley is survived by sisters Ramona Jean Corbin, Beverly June Birzele, Betty Eileen Willa (husband Jim), Sylvia Ruth Rufus, Connie Lynn Crowder (husband Harry), Amber Kay Peyton (husband Dan)
Shirley was also predeceased by her parents, William Dennison Rufus and Imogene Eileen Rufus, brothers, James Paul Rufus, Billy Eugene Rufus (wife Betty), Ronald Ray Rufus (wife Maxine), Dale Phillip Rufus, and Sonny Rufus.
Shirley loved to cook big meals and never turned anyone away. She had a heart for all people, but a special love for Special Needs. She was retired from Special Needs and Disability of South Carolina. Her greatest JOY was her Family!
