Teresa Renee Matyas

Teresa Renee Matyas, 58, of Inman, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Teresa was born in Spartanburg, S.C. on September 10, 1963.

Teresa was a stay-at-home mother. She loved the Lord, her church family, and was a long-time member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School class. She loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed going to the beach and working on crossword puzzles. She loved her friends, and she never met a stranger.

She is survived by her son Michael, Jr. and his girlfriend Nadine Snyder of Inman, SC. She is predeceased by her mother, Patricia Varner, her brother, Terry Wayne Varner, and her grandparents, Cecil E. and Ailene Whitehead Gibbs.

Receiving of friends will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022, followed by a celebration of life memorial service at 11:00 am at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC with Rev. Rob Gouge and Rev. Monty King officiating. A private graveside service will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions for final expenses may be made to the Teresa Matyas Memorial Fund c/o Mount Zion Baptist Church, 842 Mount Zion Road, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
