Theresa M. Smith

Greer – Theresa M. Smith peacefully passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at home.
The daughter of Joseph Cettl and Margarete Cettl, she was born on September 15, 1926 in Massillon, Ohio. She completed Business College at Pace College in New York City where she first met her husband of thirty-five years now predeceased Hubert Alfred Smith. She lived in New York City for early years of her adult life moving back to Massillon, Ohio, where she was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, until age 56 moving to Myrtle Beach, SC and attending St. Andrews Catholic Church, until age 85 finally moving to Greer, SC where she quietly spent the rest of her years. The final months were in the care of the wonderful folks of Agape Hospice of Spartanburg, SC.
She is survived by her children, daughter Josephine Elizabeth Smith Kolm of Carrollton, Ohio, a son Tim Gerard Smith of Greer, her grandchildren Brett Gerard Smith of Boston, MA and Alea Louise Smith of Greer and a great grandson Brayden Michael Smith of Greer.
A remembrance mass will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Massillon, Ohio. A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1209 Brushy Creek Road in Taylors, SC 29687. A gathering to Celebrate Theresa's life will follow the mass at 12:00 P.M. at the Thomas Creek Brewery, 2054 Piedmont Highway, Greenville, South Carolina 29605.
