Tony Lee Sheppard

Tony Lee Sheppard of Pickens, SC passed peacefully and surrounded by his family on 7/4/2022. Tony is survived by his mother, Julia Edna Lesley (Luther Gilstrap); children Tony Sheppard, Angela Sheppard, and Gabrielle Whitmire; his brother Brian Sheppard, his sister Stacey Carroll, eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.

Tony was born and raised in Upstate SC and a graduate of Parker High School, where he played for the school’s football team. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army in 1967. He proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1976. He was a long-time member of Blue Ridge Baptist Church, in Pickens SC.

Tony was an avid fisherman – where he found peace on the tranquil waters. He also loved to read, especially history and non-fiction. Tony liked his solitude, but deep-down, he cared immensely for his family and his friends.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Friday, July 8 at 3pm in the chapel of Cremation Society of SC – Westville Funerals.
