Vicki Hinton Pressly

May 23, 1946 — August 26, 2020

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, Vicki Hinton Pressly (74) passed away peacefully in her home after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Born in Greenville, SC on May 23, 1946 to Victor Emmanuel and Annie Mae Hinton, Vicki was the eldest of four siblings. She attended Greenville High School and Greenville Technical College. She worked as a computer programmer for many years.

As a teenager, she met the love of her life, William B.S. Pressly. The two were married December 27, 1968 and spent their honeymoon ringing in the New Year in Times Square. The duo cared for their siblings and family until their own children came along in the early 1970’s. Vicki led a rich life as a caring, attentive wife and mother, a hostess that could put on wonderfully delicious French meals and dinner parties, participated in community events and supported several non-profit organizations. Her talent knew no bounds as she simply did whatever she put her mind to – setting the example for her children and grandchildren to do the very same. Her love of travel both abroad and domestically only added to her life of happiness and fulfillment. She loved life, cared deeply for friends and family, and enjoyed weekends at the family lake house.

Vicki leaves behind an adoring family: a husband of 52 years, William B.S. Pressly; a daughter, Kathryn Pressly Hunter and her two children, Jonah Lindsay Hunter and McKenna Sparkman Hunter; a son, William B.S. Pressly Jr, his wife Amber Jones and their children Burke Poe Jones-Pressly, William Parks Jones-Pressly, and Chloe Simone Jones-Pressly. Her siblings, Micki Hinton Jordan (Daniel), Jan Hinton Ratcliff (Jimmy), and Frank Hinton (Joyce) along with many Nieces, Nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 5th. A casual drop-in from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the family home, 5 Breton Dr, Greer, SC 29650. Masks and Social distancing will be observed as necessary.

Internment of ashes will take place privately at a later time at Fourth Presbyterian Church where she has been a member for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorials be directed to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 West Georgia Rd, Simpsonville 29680. The staff of Open Arms Hospice provided impeccable care and comfort to Vicki and the family when it was needed most. We are forever grateful.
