William “Bill” Schmidt, age 79, of Waterloo, SC, husband of Sharon Schmidt, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022 at his home under Hospice care, after a two year battle with cancer. Bill was a 21 year veteran of the Navy where he met his wife. In addition to his wife of 55 years, he is survived by daughter Barbara (Steven) Shotts of Concord, NC and son William, Jr. (Lisa) of Lynchburg, VA, 6 grandchildren and one great granddaughter to-be. He was a frequent donor at the Blood Connection in Greenwood ,SC and in lieu of flowers, donations of blood or contributions to the American Cancer Society are requested. Cremation will take place with Cremation Society of SC - Westville Funerals, Greenville, SC, with burial at the M.J. “Dolly” Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC
