Alice Blakley Orr

With heavy hearts, we announce that Alice Blakley Orr went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the age of 71.

Born on February 27, 1955, in Greenville, South Carolina, Alice was the daughter of the late Furman and Maude Blakley.

Alice found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved spending time outdoors, whether by the lake or walking along the ocean collecting seashells. She had a special gift for nurturing flowers and plants, and few things made her happier than watching the hummingbirds gather outside her home. Alice loved the Lord and carried her faith with her every day. She also loved listening to music, dancing whenever she had the chance, and sharing laughter with those around her.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Orr; her son, Jeffrey Orr; and her sister, Joan Pressley. 

She is survived by her devoted partner, Mark Covington, who remained by her side with love and companionship during her later years. She also leaves behind her loving daughter, Kelly St. Germain, and son-in-law, Jeff. Alice cherished her granddaughters, Christina Emanuele and her companion Andrew, and Haley Burnett, who brought endless joy and happiness to her life.

Alice is also survived by her brother Roy Blakley and her sister Linda Bradberry, with whom she shared countless memories, laughter, and a lifetime of love. 

In keeping with Alice's wishes, rather than holding a traditional funeral service, family and friends are invited to celebrate her life on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at the VFW, 885 Old Easley Highway, Greenville, SC 29611.

Though she will be deeply missed, we find comfort in knowing Alice is at peace in the presence of the Lord. Her love, laughter, and beautiful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
