Allie Marie Summers McDuffie, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on October 25, 2025. She was born in Greenville, South Carolina, on December 11, 1943, and remained a proud, lifelong resident.
Allie lived life with flair and love. She was a renowned style guru, a woman whose cool, sophisticated beauty commanded attention the moment she walked into a room—and whose witty sense of humor kept everyone laughing. Her generous spirit was boundless.
Her home was her haven and her greatest joy, a place where she loved to welcome people (provided they called ahead!). Allie was a phenomenal cook, famous for making the best cornbread dressing in the world. She had a magical green thumb, often rescuing and revitalizing plants others had given up on. Any pet Allie had was truly the luckiest animal alive; no one could love them more than she did. And if you ever had the pleasure of dancing with her, you knew she had the best two-step around.
Allie was the beloved mother of Kimiko McDuffie and Lisa McDuffie. She is survived by her loving daughters Kimiko (Pamela), Lisa; her grandson; her two cherished sisters, Juliet Ware and Mary Ann Summers; her nephews Darrell Austin, Donald Austin and Mike Austin; and her nieces Tracy Ware, Jennifer Ware and McKinnzey Shirley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert McDuffie; her sister, Mable Duncan; and her parents, Walter and Alma Summers.
In loving memory of Allie McDuffie, whose spirit touched the lives of many, we invite family and friends to celebrate her memory through a heartfelt Tribute Tune entitled "Flair and Love".
