Alma Mahaffey

Alma Mahaffey, known lovingly to family and friends as Alma, passed away on July 20, 2026, in Easley, South Carolina, at the age of 98.

She was born on June 26, 1928, in Greenville, South Carolina, and lived a long life marked by faith, devotion to family, and a warm, steady presence that touched those around her. Alma was the daughter of the late Norman Oscar Keeler and Sally Barton Keeler. She grew up surrounded by family and carried the values of hard work, kindness, and perseverance throughout her life.

Alma was preceded in death by her brothers James Keeler, Alva Keeler, and William Carl Keeler, known to many as Bill, as well as her sisters Doris Taylor and Edna Cook. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Those who welcomed her into eternity did so with the same love that defined her earthly life.

Alma worked at the Monaghan Plant, where she was known for her dependable nature and strong work ethic. She approached her work with quiet determination and took pride in doing her part well. Her life reflected the character of someone who understood the value of diligence and responsibility, and she carried those qualities into every area of her life.

Faith was an important part of Alma’s life, and she was a member of Life Church in Easley. Her relationship with the Lord was a source of strength and comfort, and she lived with a faith-filled spirit that encouraged others. She was the kind of person whose presence could lift a room, and her faith was evident in the way she treated others with patience, grace, and care.

Alma was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Mahaffey Clark; her grandson, Brian Keith Clark; her granddaughters, Karen M. Main and Kayla Clark Waldrop; her great-granddaughters, Olivia Joyce Clark and Jordyn McKenzie Main; her great-grandsons, Charlie Bissonnette, Jack Bissonnette, and Samuel Karston Main; and her great-great-granddaughters, Ava Stevens and Finleigh Stevens. Her family was one of her greatest joys, and she treasured the love and connection she shared with each generation.

Those who knew Alma will remember her as funny, faith-filled, and creative. She had a way of bringing humor into everyday moments and making others feel at ease. Her creativity showed in the way she lived her life and in the thoughtful, personal touch she brought to the things she enjoyed. She found happiness in working in the yard, being outside sitting, and spending time in the simple beauty of the world around her. She was also an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles, pastimes that reflected both her lively spirit and her love of a good challenge.

Alma’s life was a testament to strength, faith, and love. She will be remembered for her gentle heart, her sense of humor, and the steady example she set for her family. Her legacy lives on in the lives of those who loved her and in the memories they will carry forward with gratitude and affection.

The family and friends who mourn her passing also give thanks for a life well lived. Alma Mahaffey leaves behind a legacy of devotion, resilience, and love that will not be forgotten.

Family will receive friends 10-11AM at the Life Church in Easley with services at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville, SC.
