Alton Owens

Our beloved father, grandfather and friend, Alton ("Al") Owens passed away peacefully at The Gables at Pelham in Greenville, SC, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the age of 89.

Alton was a devoted husband to his wife, Iris Fennell Owens, for 47 years until she passed away in 2025. Alton is survived by his children, Debbie O. Atkins (Tim), Sheila O. Fulbright (Allen) and Steve Fennell (Julia), and his grandchildren, Owen Fulbright, Trace Fulbright and Marlee Atkins.

For over 50 years, Alton owned and operated Foundry Patterns in Lyman, SC, which specialized in creating and managing patterns for foundry applications. Alton was a long-time member of Lyman Methodist Church.

He was a life-long music enthusiast and a devoted collector of vinyl records. He also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, football, racing and spending time with his family.

In accordance with his wishes, a private family gathering will take place. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

The family greatly appreciates the thoughts and prayers of friends and loved ones during this quiet time of remembrance.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Gables.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lyman Methodist Church.
