Andrew Orban, affectionately known as Drew, sadly passed away on May 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by his humor, kindness, and boundless creativity. Born on March 25, 1981, Drew lived a life enriched by his many talents and deep passions, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

Drew was a gifted songwriter and musician, a photographer, and an artist. He took great pride in sharing his musical talents and drawings with others. Like many musicians, he always carried a guitar pick in his pocket, ready at any time to play his favorite guitar. His love for animals, especially Daisy, Taylor, and Gus reflected the gentle and compassionate nature that defined him. Whether through his music or art, Drew expressed a unique perspective on the world—one filled with warmth, talent, wit, and an undeniable spark.

He is survived by those who loved him dearly: his brother Chris Orban; sister Donna Shank Major; brother Greg Shank; sister Terri Cantrell; numerous nieces and nephews who remember him as a beloved uncle; and Kayla Gibbs, his special friend and former spouse, who shared many meaningful chapters of his life. Drew’s parents, Gusztav and Catherine Orban, who preceded him in death, no doubt look on with pride at the remarkable person he became.

His presence brought light to those around him, and his creative contributions will continue to inspire others through the many recordings of his music. Though he has left this world, the songs he composed, the images he captured, and the love he shared will endure in the memories of all fortunate enough to have known him.

Andrew “Drew” Orban will be remembered not only for his talents and kindness but for the genuine, heartfelt connections he forged throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by family, friends, and all whose lives he touched. May his memory be a blessing and a source of comfort to those who carry him in their hearts.

In remembering Drew, we honor a man who lived with a joyful spirit and a caring heart to the very end. In keeping with his loving and generous spirit, it was Andrew’s decision to donate life so that others may live. The family would like to thank the ICU medical team at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital for their care, compassion, and support to our family during the most difficult time.

A celebration of Andrew’s life will take place on Saturday, May 30th at 2:00pm at the family’s residence.
