Ann Loftis Hall

Ann Loftis Hall of Clinton, SC passed away on January 28, 2024. She was 84 years old. She was with family at the time of her passing, which was both solemn and very peaceful.

Mrs. Hall was born on June 1, 1939 to H.A. and Irene Loftis of Piedmont, SC. She was a cherished sister to Steve (Jenny) and Alton (Demi) Loftis. She graduated from Mars Hill College, and later went on to graduate from Furman University, where she proudly accepted her diploma alongside her mother, Irene, as they both graduated together in 1961. Her time in Clinton was marked by 49 years of membership at First Presbyterian Church, where she also served as an Elder.

Ann Hall was an absolute titan in the field of education in the Clinton community. She served as a teacher at the Thornwell School, Joanna Elementary, and M.S. Bailey Elementary. She served as a principal at both M.S. Bailey and Clinton Elementary schools. Her love of teaching and leading has become a profound part of her legacy, as she impacted scores of students and educators. Her sphere of influence is alive and thriving today.

Ann Hall is survived by her three sons, Tom (Michelle); Robert (Lori); and Scott (Janine) Hall. Her grandchildren are Max and Anna Grace Hall; Taylor (Kayla), Carley, and Mitchell Hall; Andrew Hall (Trista), Caroline Hall, Josh Shuba (Rachael), Zach Shuba (Jean), Ben Shuba, and Andrew Shuba (Courtney). She is also survived by ten great grandchildren. She was invested in each of them and loved them in meaningful ways with incredible kindness.

Mrs. Hall was defined by the relationships that she fostered throughout her life, including the one she shared with Jesus. She loved visiting her pals and having weighty, personal conversations. She took great pleasure in taking friends to her cabin in Cedar Mountain for fellowship. She built and fostered relationships and was faithful to serve and share wisdom. And she affirmed all those who entered her path. She was a wonderful, impactful woman and will be remembered with fondness and love.
