With a heart filled with loving memories, we celebrate the life of Anthony Gordan Kelley, known affectionately to friends and family as Tony, who was born on September 22, 1963, in Greenville, SC, and passed away on December 3, 2024, in Greer, SC. Tony's life was a tapestry of devotion to his loved ones, a testament to his faith, and a reflection of the passions that brought him joy.
Tony's early years in Greenville laid the foundation for a life characterized by love, faith, and enthusiasm. His journey through life was shared with his beloved wife, Areatha (Rita) Kelley, and their cherished daughters, Kindal Richards (Scott) and Kasi Kelley. The light of his life shone even brighter with the arrival of his grandson, Jase Lawhon, who brought immense joy and pride to Tony’s heart.
Though he now joins his late parents, Jerry and Irma Kelley, and his brother Eddie Kelley, in eternal rest, his legacy continues through his sisters, Jerilyn Gilstrap and Sharon Hyatt, who remember him for his boundless love and the unwavering strength of his character. also survived by his dogs Callie, Sadie, Daisy, Allie and bird Skittles.
Tony's passion for life was evident to all who knew him. A fervent supporter of the Clemson Tigers, he found a sense of camaraderie and excitement in every game, wearing his team's colors with pride. His love for the outdoors was manifested in the meticulous care he took of his yard, a task he approached with the same zeal and dedication that he applied to all his endeavors.
Christmas was a particularly special time for Tony. His home would become a festive haven, filled with the spirit of the season and the warmth of his generous heart. He took great pleasure in the joy that this time of year brought to his family and friends, and he was the embodiment of the holiday's message of love and giving.
Tony's commitment to his faith was unwavering, and he found great solace and fellowship at the Destination Church of God. The Men's Fellowship group was not merely a gathering for Tony; it was a source of inspiration and spiritual nourishment. His faith-filled nature was an integral part of who he was, and it guided him in every aspect of his life.
Described by those who knew him as loving, faith-filled, and passionate, Tony approached every day with a heart full of gratitude and a spirit eager to embrace life's blessings. His presence was a comfort, his laughter a balm, and his counsel a source of wisdom.
The void left by Tony's departure is felt deeply by those who loved him. Yet, we are comforted by the knowledge that his life was one well-lived, marked by the profound impact he had on the lives he touched. We carry forward the essence of his being—his love, his faith, and his passion—as we honor his memory and celebrate the remarkable man he was.
Anthony Gordan Kelley's story does not end with his passing, for his spirit lives on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
