Barron Thompson Padgett, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 1, 1960, in Greenville, South Carolina, Barron dedicated over 20 years of his professional life to serving in health care and working his way up as nursing support specialist, a role in which he brought his gentle nature and passionate spirit to the care of others.
Barron was well-known for his humorous and gentle personality. He had an uncanny ability to bring smiles to faces around him, leaving an indelible mark on every gathering with his infectious laughter, wit and light-heartedness. Those who knew him cherished the warmth, humor and positivity he radiated. He always left an impression on everyone that he met.
An avid sports enthusiast, Barron had a deep love for football and basketball, passionately supporting the Carolina Gamecocks. His spirit of competition was matched only by his love for family games, particularly Gin Rummy and other card games, which provided him with countless joyful moments shared with loved ones.
Barron was a proud grandfather who loved his grandchildren, Sawyer, Lily, and Hallie, with all his heart. His devotion to family shaped his life, and he cherished the moments spent with them, imparting wisdom, joy, and endless love.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara S. Padgett; his sons, Barron A. Padgett (Elizabeth), Benjamin A. Padgett, and Bradley A. Padgett (Taylor); his daughter, Anna N. Roe (Cameron); his sister, Julie C. Townsend; and his brother, J. Rodgers Padgett. He is predeceased by his father, Lewis B. Padgett, and his mother, Mary T. Padgett.
Barron Thompson Padgett leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
