Dep. Rebecca Leigh 'Becca' Lay, 41, beloved wife, mother, and hero to many; went to be with the Lord on August 15, 2021, after a long fight with cancer. Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of Edward Lee and Cynthia Lynn Brotzge Devore.
Becca was a Deputy Sheriff with the Greenville County Sheriff's Office for 19 years. She was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband, Dorsey Lay; three children, Rileigh, Kaiden, and Landon; and two sisters, Shelly Snow and Kara Devore.
A memorial service will be held at 5 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Clearview Baptist Church, 5611 State Park Road, Travelers Rest, SC 29690. The family will receive relatives and friends following the service.
